Mimulopsis solmsii called majamanjumbe in West Cameroon is a flowering plant from the family Acanthaceae and is the type species for the genus Mimulopsis. A coarse herb[2] or vining[3] undershrub that can grow up to 4 meters (12 ft.) tall, with pithy stems and sticky-hairy flower stalks filled with lilac or pale violet flowers 3 centimeters (1 in.) long.[2]

Mimulopsis solmsii can be found growing in the upland forests of the mountains in Ethiopia, Cameroon, Burundi[2][4] and the Imatong Mountains in Sudan.[5]
