[edit] Hoax?

I tagged this article for checking as a possible hoax. (If it is, it's a damned good one.) The link to the supposed Supreme Court case is broken. A google search for "Weeniwinks" brings forth only Wikipedia mirrors, and an about.com page [1] that seems to depict a test tube full of corn kernels. The pictures are cute. - Smerdis of Tlön 14:14, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

I removed the tag; at least the patent page checks out, and he does seem to be an author listed on amazon.com. I still have doubts, though. - Smerdis of Tlön 14:20, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
Fixed the broken link - D. C. Plunkett 03:47, 13 September 2007 (UTC) D. C. Plunkett
Hoax? Hardly. All the works of Hastings cited and articles about Hastings cited are available for verification. Not cited are a death certificate from Westchester County NY, grave marker at Pardee Cemetery KS, United States census entries, college transcript from Kansas State University, a multitude of newspaper clippings about Hastings, and a multitude of magazine articles by Hastings. It is dismaying that a broken link (now fixed) to a fully-cited Supreme Court decision caused an article to be tagged as a hoax. --RogerTaft 00:11, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
