There should be more space devoted here to Tydings's racial views; in his time, Tydings was an well known racist and white supremacist, who spent most of his time in the Senate blocking proposed civil rights bills. 129.97.58.55 23:32, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

The committee published a report denouncing Joseph McCarthy and his claims as a hoax. When he ran for re-election in 1950, McCarthy's staff distributed a composite picture of Tydings with Earl Browder; the former leader of the American Communist Party he had never even (?) before July 1950.

Never even what? Met? Seen? Heard of? Incomplete sentence.
