• 1918 - World War I: Battle of the Somme (1918) begins.
• 1953 - Korean War: 1st, 2nd and 3rd Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment paraded together at Camp Casey, near Tongchuchon, in for the first time since the regiment had been granted the 'Royal' prefix.
