• 1942 - World War II: The Australian Government demanded the return of 6th and 7th Divs from the Middle East.
• 1970 - Vietnam War: 8th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment fought the Battle of Long Hai in South Vietnam, supported by tanks from 1 Armoured Regiment.
