• 1944 - World War II: Members of the 5th Division link up with the 126th Regiment at Saidor to mark the end of the Huon Peninsula campaign.
• 1968 - Vietnam War: 3 RAR flew north to relieve 7 RAR in Operation Coburg at Fire Support Base Anderson.
