[edit] Version 1
The first version was a Southern League team known (since 1957) as Bletchley Town F.C. before changing its name in 1974[2] to Milton Keynes City, lasting ten seasons under that name before folding during the 1984-85 season.
Milton Keynes City FC won the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup in the 1979-80 season at The Meadow, Chesham. They defeated Aylesbury United 2-0 in the final.[3]
[edit] Version 2
The second version only existed for a few seasons from the late 1990s, playing in the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division. The 1990s club began as a Sunday league football club known as Mercedes-Benz F.C.[4], where many of the players worked. It moved into Wolverton Park (on the Wolverton railway works site), which several years before was the home of Milton Keynes Wolves F.C. (previously "Wolverton Town"). As with Wolves, City's directors believed that they could build their club up to be accepted as representing Milton Keynes as a whole, but never achieved this. The club closed in July 2003, unable to secure the investment needed to continue.
