Milovice is a town in the Czech Republic in the Nymburk District. Towards the end of the year of 2007 the total population has reached 7,500 people.
The village was first mentioned in 1396. Nowadays, the town Milovice belongs among the fastest growing suburban areas in the Czech Republic.
[edit] History and Soviet Occupation
Milovice played an important role during the Soviet occupation of Czechoslovakia and was the headquarters for the CGF (Central Group of Forces).[1] The town held many Soviet troops and tanks at the local Military base.[2]. The last of the troops left in 1991 and the base was demolished in 1995.[3]
