[edit] Distribution
Miller began testing Miller Chill in five major demographics across the southern-portion of the United States - Arizona, Florida, New Mexico, Texas and San Diego, California in March 2007. [1] These markets contain a high population of Latino immigrants and Americans of Latino heritage.
In July 2007, Chill began distribution within the contiguous United States. [2]
On November 12 2007 it was released into the Australian market.[3]
[edit] Marketing
Miller Chill’s marketing is design to appeal to young males in both American and Latino cultures in the United States (ex. Eddie not Craig). By using bright colors, viewers are meant to envision Chill as a replacement for other light-colored "party" beers[4] branded as "South American," such as Corona. A strong male voice in the English television advertising is used in conjunction with the greens and yellows.
Advertising was created by the firm Young & Rubicam of Chicago.
Television and print advertisements use both English and Spanish, sometimes creating portmanteaus such as "beerveza" (beer + cerveza).
