Miller is a South Shore Line commuter station in Gary, Indiana serving the neighborhood of Miller. It is one of three NICTD electric train stations in Gary.
Miller is located on Gary's far eastern edge, and much of the neighborhood is physically separated from the main city and from other municipalities in Northwest Indiana by strips and parcels of Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore land. Of special interest is the National Lakeshore's Miller Woods, which can be entered from a point 0.7 miles (1.1 km) north of the NICTD train station. The Miller station serves the neighborhood of Miller Beach to the north.
On October 30, 2007, the executive director of the Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission disclosed that current plans calls for the Miller station to be closed at an undisclosed date. [1]
