Millard F. Harmon was a commander in the United States Army during the Pacific campaign in World War II. During the strategically significant Guadalcanal campaign, he commanded US Army forces in the South Pacific Area. Later, Harmon commanded all US Army air forces in the Pacific area. Harmon was lost on a routine military training flight from Hawaii over the Marshall Islands in late 1945 and officially declared dead in February 1946.
