The Arab League as an Organization has no military Force, like the UN or EU, but recently in the 2007 summit, the Leaders decided to reactivate their joint defense and establilsh a peacekeeping force to deploy in South Lebanon, Darfur, Iraq, and other hot spots.
Combined together the Arab League makes one of the powers in the World today with 130 million manpower availability, putting it third after India and before the US's 67 Million Manpower.
There have been in History several wars that the Arab states participated in together, especially the 1948 war, which was against Israel, the Armies of Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia all were engaged in the war, which led to the Arab defeat and Israel's conquest into Palestine further more.
Today Egypt is considered the Strongest Military Body in Africa, and is ranked 11th internationally. Saudi Arabia has recently started to enlarge its Military department, with other Gulf states following, Morocco is maintaining a strong army in north Africa, along with Algeria and Libya. Syria, Jordan and Iraq's Armies have all grew relatively slower to other rich states. recently the US has promised to grant the Arab States around $60 billion worth of Military equipments to Egypt ($ 30 Billion) and the Gulf States, to prepare them if Iran decided to strike American interests in the oil rich region... Israel on the Other hand has requested an equally priced Military aid from the US, to protect itself from Arabs sudden increase in Military... and was granted 30 billion dollars.
