Asoka Milinda Moragoda (born 04 June 1964) MP is the Sri Lanka's Cabinet Minister of Tourism and had served as Cabinet Minister for Economic Reforms, Science and Technology as well as Deputy Minister for Plan Implementation and Development from 2002-2004 in the regime of United National Party (UNP), the current main Opposition party of Sri Lanka. He is a Member of Parliament representing the Colombo District.[1]

Milinda received his secondary education at Royal College, Colombo. He is a MBA holder from the International Institute for Management Development in Switzerland and was a Fellow of the Centre for International Affairs at Harvard University in from 1994 to 1995.

Moragoda has made an impact on the sectors of business, government, politics and the media. Before he entered politics, Milinda was the Founder Chairman of Mercantile Merchant Bank Ltd. (MMBL). During his tenure as the Minister for Economic Reforms, he played a key role in establishing a ceasefire and initiating peace talks between the Government and the LTTE, and served as one of the principal Government negotiators.

He was elected as Parliament in 2004 and served as an opposition MP until 2007 when he joined the government side and was appointed Cabinet Minister of Tourism shortly, along with Karu Jayasuriya and 17 other UNP MPs after he had bitter disputes with party leader Ranil Wickremesinghe .
