[edit] Dinamo Zagreb

Badelj signed for Dinamo Zagreb as a 16 year old in 2007, just after he was snaped from youth sistem of NK Zagreb. In season 2007-2008 he was sended on loan to another Zagreb club NK Lokomotiva Zagreb to gain expirience. There he played with teamates from Dinamo Zagreb youth sistem, also loaned by club, Stjepan Babić, Matej Bagarić, Mate Maleš, Josip Pivarić, Ivan Tomečak, Tomislav Havoić, Sandi Hudorović and Daniel Višević along side with expirienced former Dinamo Zagrebs Bosnian player Edin Mujčin. At his early age he was already spoted as ancester for Luka Modrić and thats was the reason why forgein clubs were reportedly linked with a move for the youngster, including Manchester United but Milan Badelj deny those reports and say that he will stay in Dinamo Zagreb until he make some mark.
