A mill token used for sales tax purposes in the state of Missouri.

This particular token was manufactured from paper. Mill tokens were issued in various denominations from 1-9 mills, and usually ranged in size from the size of a U.S. cent to that of a nickel.

The image is believed to be fair-use when used to illustrate the article on Mill (currency). It is a rare (perhaps unique) example of a "coin" that was issued in the value of one mill. -- Zsero (talk) 23:38, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

As it was printed in the US in the early 20th century with no notice of copyright, public domain per US law.
