Queen sample in Delay (audio effect)
I am very concerned that this is not a fair use of the recording, as it's being used in Delay (audio effect) to comment on delay rather than on the song. We need to be very careful only to use freely-licensed recordings for this sort of exposition. I have removed the link from the Delay (audio effect) article. —ptkâ°fgs 20:36, 18 August 2006 (UTC)e
Fair use vs 'free' image
Hi, I saw you replaced a free image with a fair use image on Brian May. I inserted the free picture again. According to policy Wikipedia:Fair use criteria # 1 we should always use a more free alternative if one is available. Cheers, Garion96 (talk) 12:34, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

Many thanks for your efforts to resurrect the Queen WikiProject. Of course, I would like to help and take part in this project. Candyfloss 15:07, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
I don't understand why you delete (redirect) song articles before their content is moved to the album articles. Candyfloss 14:35, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
Fair use images on templates
Re: [1]. Fair use images are not permitted on templates per terms of Wikipedia:Fair use criteria item #9. Image:Bohemian Rhapsody.png is tagged with such a template. It may be used on the Bohemian Rhapsody but it may not be used on {{Infobox Bohemian Rhapsody}}. Please do not re-add the image to the template. Seeing as the template is only used on Bohemian Rhapsody, it would be a better idea to copy the template code into the article itself, and then re-include the image. Following that, the template should be deleted. Templates are intended for multiple use, not single use. All the best, --Durin 21:12, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
Mary Austin Pic
Excellent find on that picture. But I think you might want to restore the 1974 pic and put your new one in the "Personal Life" section in place of the 1989 picture. I don't think the 85/89 pictures are that different, while the 1974 is unique from the other pictures in the article. *Sparkhead 15:34, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

Please do not remove content from Wikipedia. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. â miketm - Queen WikiProject - 19:29, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
My response:
The content I removed consisted of a vandalized page in which some immature person had removed the entire article and replaced it with the word "POOP." As I waited for quite some time and noticed nobody changed it I feel I had not only the right but the responsibility to do so. 68.195.209.53 13:58, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

Queen Sources
Hi there! I just jumped aboard Queen WikiProject, and I wanted to know where to go for some great and reputable online Queen sources. I'm guessing I'll have to search at my local library for some facts, because I just don't like seeing my favorite song of all time "Innuendo" with so many facts, but no citations to back it up. I also do not think "answers.com" is a sufficient citation, either. Please let me know of your thoughts. Thanks! WiiAlbanyGirl 05:28, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
- Well you have to look around, different sites have different things. You should really try to cite books and other published material (e.g. Queen: As It Began).â miketm - Queen WikiProject - 05:47, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, I have looked around quite a bit. I'm a huge Queen fan. I do know that many wonderful resources exist on the world's best band on paper, but I was wondering if you personally knew of any substantiated information that we could use in Queen Wikiproject on the internet. I'm just adverse to using general fan pages that have no informational credentials, and I know that using copyrighted material will present a problem. Thanks, and Cheers! WiiAlbanyGirl 06:49, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
- You could try Queenzone, they have a year by year history of the band up to 1995.â miketm - Queen WikiProject - 07:51, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

Re: Image:Queen logo (name only).svg
I am assuming you created this image, if this is the case wouldn't it be better to use a license such as {{GFDL-self}}? It is only part of the logo after all.â miketm - Queen WikiProject - 10:44, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
- Well, as I have stated before, it has been used independently from the full "crest" numerous times and as such still appears to be copyrighted material, whether I created that vectorization or not. - Cyrus XIII 13:52, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
Re: Template:Songs
Ahhh, I did overlook the image. Should've thought of that. Added the #ifeq statement, as requested, although moving the default image size down to 50px made it look a bit small (my opinion) -- you're welcome to get a second opinion, or I'll change that from 100px to 50px anyway if a few people tell me they think it looks better. :) – Luna Santin (talk) 04:03, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

BTW, could you integrate it into the existing categories for {{WPRock}}, so ie. any GA album article still goes into Category:GA-Class rock music articles? -- Reaper X 18:36, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
- I was just going to ask that :). After I run the bot the articles should be added to Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Rock music articles by quality.â miketm - Queen WikiProject - 18:45, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

Image:Rogertaylor_2006.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Rogertaylor_2006.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
Go to the image description page and edit it to add{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Orphaned fair use image (Image:Brian may tapping.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Brian may tapping.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Fair use rationale for Image:Queen_-_A_Day_At_The_Races_-_Somebody_To_Love.ogg
Thanks for uploading Image:Queen_-_A_Day_At_The_Races_-_Somebody_To_Love.ogg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 21:46, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I have searched quite a few times over the Queen project but cannot find any additions or references to the production and contributions by Freddie, Brian and Roger to the single "The Man From Manahatten" by Eddie Howell in 1975 or '76. Fair use rationale for Image:Queen_Live_Killers.png
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Queen_Live_Killers.png. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
Thank you. The Sunshine Man 18:19, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ilse@ 21:16, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
Non-free portrait images of living people are considered to be replaceable. The image also doesn't have source information or fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please let me know. – Ilse@ 21:16, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Queenlive.jpeg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Queenlive.jpeg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use.
Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ilse@ 18:36, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
Freddie Mercury
The Freddie Mercury article received heavy editing today by new/unregistered users, which I noticed at WikiRage.com. The article may benefit from a good review. According to Wikipedia Page History Statistics, you are one of the top contributors to that page. If you have the time, would you please read over the article and make any necessary changes. Thanks. -- Jreferee (Talk) 16:28, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

Hey there. In February of this year you submitted a proofreading request at WP:LoCE. I've started working on this; you can read some comments from me at the talk page. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. – Scartol · Talk 17:12, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:QII.png)
Thanks for uploading Image:QII.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 05:27, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
