[edit] Copyrighted images
You specifically uploaded the image Image:Yawgoog patch.gif as non-commercial use only licensed. According to Speedy deletion per I3 - Images uploaded licensed as "for non-commercial use only" are immediately deleted. Feel free to re-upload the image with the correct licensing and fair use rationale. SkierRMH (talk) 08:28, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
- As a clarification, since you requested it, you probably could simply tag the image as copyrighted/nonfree, and then write a nonfree rationale. Generally, nonfree logos are allowed under such rationales, so this would probably work alright. However, please note that permission from the copyright holder, if that permission is for "use on Wikipedia only", "noncommercial use only", or "use by anyone but only of unmodified versions", does not change the nonfree status of the image. To be free, an image must be open for any type of use by anyone, including modification and commercial use. Free images may still require that derivatives must remain under the same license, and may alternatively or additionally require that the creator be attributed when the image is used, but may not impose restrictions on modification or type of use, including commercial. Copyright and free/nonfree is a tricky area, so I hope that clears it up a bit, but if you have any more questions please do ask. Seraphimblade Talk to me 20:20, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

- For the record, I uploaded two Scouting images that are non-free AND provided a rationale for their use. After being deleted twice an 'angel' editor restored my image. --Mikemarseglia (talk) 14:10, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

Please let me know if I can help you in any way in editing any article. For Scouting articles, I suggest you check our Manual of Style. YIS --— Gadget850 (Ed) talk - 14:07, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
