[edit] Anon

There are two possibilities:

  1. Anon so dramatically misunderstands the nature and operation of wikipedia that he or she also misunderstood the consequences of his or her actions as being more serious than they actually were.
  2. Anon is a Troll.

[edit] Ironside

Further to your comment:

I saw you redirected Ironside. Thanks; it helps when people fix the inoperative links. Problem is, Ironside debuted in 1967 so it's like that on two other schedules. Do you want to fix it or should I?

I will make the same change on the two other schedules. GRStain

[edit] A token of appreciation

I, blankfaze, hereby award you this Working Man's Barnstar, in commemoration of your 3,000th contribution to Wikipedia and your incredible average of 86.9 contributions per day.
I, blankfaze, hereby award you this Working Man's Barnstar, in commemoration of your 3,000th contribution to Wikipedia and your incredible average of 86.9 contributions per day.

Morning, my friend. I wasn't on yesterday evening coz I was out on the town. Good old Pensacola. Anyhoo, I was looking at your user page and saw that it only took you from 4 July to 8 July to reach your 3,000th contribution. I was like, "WOW, 500 contributions in 5 days?!" So I decided to check your overall average. As of this writing, you have 3,042 contributions in the 35 days since you joined on 4 June 2004. That's a fucking amazing rate of 86.9 per DAY! And I thought I had a nice average with 34 a day! You joined almost two months after I did, yet you're only about 200 contributions behind me! You're a fucking machine! Anyway... I wanted to award you a Working Man's Barnstar. You are only the third recipient of this glorious award, after User:Grunt and User:Montrealais. It is, as the name suggests, for the working man. And 86.9 edits/day... I think you qualify. That's just incredible. Anyway, congratulations, my friend! blankfaze | (беседа!) 16:57, 9 Jul 2004 (UTC)

I've moved a copy of the barnstar to my user page. I hope you don't mind. :-) Mike H 02:22, Jul 10, 2004 (UTC)
Not at all, that's where it's supposed to go! blankfaze | (беседа!) 02:28, 12 Jul 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you

Hi, and thank you for creating the primetime network TV grids for the 50s, 60s, and 70s. They are an excellent addition to Wikipedia. Thank you also for your note on my user page about my edits to Maude. I wrote the original article here, as it's a favorite show of mine too. In fact, when I was 18, in 1989, I was considered quite unusual for my interest in 70s television programs like Maude. I'm glad to see that there are people your age who are keeping the faith! [edit] Vandal

Am I the vandal on the redhead's eye color section of Anome's page. If I am tell me at my user page. 10 Jul 2004, User:Heegoop (UTC)

[edit] Higgins

I had forgotten about the dog on Petticoat Junction! He may indeed have swam in the water tower, though my memory on this is a bit hazy: didn't he grab one of the petticoats during the titles and run off with it? I looked around a bit: on the series, his name was simply "Dog", he was played by "Higgins" who was trained by Frank Inn, and went on to star in the first two "Benji" movies. I did find this nice site if you feel ambitious to expand the article.

And I had forgotten the cheesy theme song till nosing around that site:

Come ride the little train that is rolling down the tracks to the Junction,
Forget about your cares, it is time to relax at the Junction,
Lots of curves, you bet, even more when you get to the Junction,
Petticoat Junction!
There's a little hotel called the Shady Rest at the Junction, Petticoat Junction!
It is run by Kate, come and be her guest at the Junction, Petticoat Junction!
And that's Uncle Joe, he's a-movin' kinda slow at the Junction, Petticoat Junction!

-- Nunh-huh 23:40, 10 Jul 2004 (UTC)

After June Lockhart:

It is run by Joe, come and be his guest at the Junction, Petticoat Junction!
Here's our Lady M.D., she's as pretty as can be at the Junction, Petticoat Junction!

Imagine "Lady M.D." being a novelty! Anyway, those lyrics are at that site ref'd above...I've been poking around it. Other tidbits: Sharon Tate was originally cast as Billie Jo but decided not to do it. The train was the Hooterville Cannonball. The first two seasons are Black & White, almost never rebroadcast, and two of the daughters, played by Pat Wardell & Jeannie Riley probably aren't remembered as well as the later cast Linda Henning, Meredith McRae, Gunnila Hutton, & Lori Saunders. And the show would have lasted longer if CBS hadn't decided to get rid of all its "country" programming... - Nunh-huh 00:12, 11 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Well, I didn't love Maude or The Facts of Life so much (though they had great lead actresses, they were kind of wasted, I thought) but it's good to be able to read about them here and jog the memory. They really ought to rerun some shows from some of the less common series once in a while, it'd be fun. - Nunh-huh 00:31, 11 Jul 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Network schedules and PBS

Hey! Thanks for your work on the TV schedules, and especially thank you for including my note on PBS! It was also nice to talk to you on IRC and I'm sure we'll have more discussions there or on IM or email. kmccoy 22:59, 11 Jul 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Hello

Hey, Mike, I thought I'd ask: Can you vote for me on RfA? Thanks. Neutrality 01:09, Jul 12, 2004 (UTC)

    • I see you just did! Thanks. ;) Neutrality 01:21, Jul 12, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Great job on those TV schedules

I've given you a Barnstar for your damned brilliant work. Hopefully this third one doesn't ruin your userpage's formatting ;-) [[User:DO'Neil|DO'Иeil]] (VascoDaGama on IRC)

[edit] Germany pictures

Hey, you wanted me to let you know when I finished my Germany pictures. Well, I did! They're in their gallery. I appreciate your interest. :) kmccoy 06:35, 12 Jul 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Vandal

That's what I was warning him about, actually. I'll check the rest of his contribs now. [[User:Meelar|Meelar (talk)]] 20:19, 12 Jul 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Holy cow!

Holy cow, you sure like your daytime TV! -AnonymousCoward

Yeah, you betcha. That part of Wiki was really lacking. Thanks for noticing! If you want to talk about anything, I'm here, so just write some more. Mike H 23:35, Jul 15, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] "bad example"

Strictly all wikipedia content should be licensed under the GFDL. Having fair use pictures on the frontpage sends out the wrong message to new users. Fair use images should be a last resort IMO. Ed g2s 01:18, 16 Jul 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Hunter Tylo

Hi Mike. I suppose I just wanted to make the language nicer on the piece. I felt that "Dabbled in Hinduism" has some form of negative connotation. Thanks for talking to me on the subject. One Salient Oversight 02:09, 16 Jul 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Did You Know?

Just wanted to congratulate you on having an item in Did you know. I've had one, too. Only one, to my knowledge... it was from my article Jimmy McHugh. Sorry I wasn't on today. Slept the day away. Talk to you later. blankfaze | (беседа!) 05:45, 16 Jul 2004 (UTC)

  • P.S. - I checked your contribs for you - In case you wanted to know, your 3500th contribution was:
    • 16:28, 14 Jul 2004 - Tom Eplin
      • And, in case you wanted to know, you're currently at 3761.
      • As compared to my 3616. You have outpaced me, friend. хорошая работа. blankfaze | (беседа!) 07:32, 16 Jul 2004 (UTC)

[edit] thankz for the heads up.

How'd you come across my page? Could you take a look at my west wing edits from yesterday. Aren't they mostly tasteful?

your dzzl, Kzzl

[edit] Jimmie Rodgers

I moved the text of Jimmie Rodgers (pop singer) from Jimmie Rodgers in order to create a page for Jimmie Rodgers (country singer). The original poster of the text can be found in the history section of Jimmie Rodgers Cheers. Tiles 02:53, 17 Jul 2004 (UTC)

I didn't think I needed to say anything since you seemed to be eager to go and modify the valid information I added. RickK 04:16, Jul 17, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you

  • I'm really sorry you didn't get it. I thought you were qualified and the time arguments were really reaching. This is what discourages me from accepting nominations, even three or four months down the road. Mike H 16:01, Jul 17, 2004 (UTC)
  • Thanks. Apparently some people think adminship should be unattainable... But I don't mind. I'm going back to what I've always been doing — contributing. Thanks for your support. I really do appreciate it. Neutrality 16:10, 17 Jul 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Revert

You're welcome; I'm only happy to. Around here, getting tubgirl'd is a sign you're doing something right, methinks. ;) -- Hadal 02:00, 18 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Oh, thanks; I appreciate the sentiment nonetheless. I've given him a standard 24 hour block, but I'll stick around for a while to make sure he doesn't try to evade it. :) Cheers, -- Hadal 02:10, 18 Jul 2004 (UTC)
