[edit] FSU Alumni
I am a little concerned about listing other than really remarkable/famous alumni on the FSU Wikipage. Not because I don't like seeing alumni, more it has to do with when do we stop? Soon we'll have hundreds of alumni listed and that detracts from the main article. Sirberus 20:34, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- I agree, but rather than not list more prominent scientists and novelists, I say we trim the fat. Let's start up a list of some of the minor entertainment alumni then can be cut. ok? Mike850 22:37, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- Also, the amount of prominent scientists listed before was woefully underrepresentative. Mike850 22:37, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- Sounds good.Sirberus 12:44, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] FSU academic comments & sources
I wanted to get further commentary from you regarding the contested phrases on the FSU page. Please see here.Cka3n 18:42, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
- reworded Academics and External Rankings to match citation content exactly. Removed "competative with any public university in the country" as that would require about a 100 citations but is factual. Mike850 19:20, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

- I appreciate you taking the time to hunt down these sources. I remain concerned, however, about the editorial turn involved in the competitive claim. The current source does not say anything about competitive, and I don't think we want to get into a dispute about whether 87 (or even 89) is "competitive" with 93, 96, or 97. Such disputes are probably best resolved outside of Wikipedia, leaving us to report what is elsewhere published.Cka3n 19:56, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
- Again, the citation is dated (see: 2005). The numbers have imporved to 89% and I will hunt that citation down if you insist. Second and most important, UNC and UVA (the 96 and 97% that you refer to) are not considered 'peer' institutions to FSU. The other schools on the list are, and these numbers are even or lower than FSU's.Mike850 20:03, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

- I'm not going to insist. I am uncomfortable with the competitive claim, and I don't see that it adds much to the article. That said, I voiced my concerns to you, and you certainly have provided sources for data, so I am not going to edit the language out.Cka3n 20:05, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] WP:AGF
Please read WP:AGF. While vandals on FSU's page are most likely to be UF students, don't assume all people writing things that are not favorable to the university are from there and much less don't assume they are all vandals. If the attack had been more direct it could have even been considered a personal attack. Please assume good faith and don't attack other users. Gdo01 19:31, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Division of labor
Mike, In order to get this done, if you want to focus on the new alumni page I'll focus on the referencing. Interested?Sirberus 02:09, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, I'm still chipping away at the references, but most are done.Sirberus 02:06, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Color-box spacing
We're trying to standardize the color boxes being joined together, as per Template_talk:Infobox_University#Imported_from_Color_boxes, to keep color boxes from displaying on different lines at certain schools. I reverted your edit, but no hostility meant. --Jerm (Talk/ Contrib) 02:32, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
