Author's note: An ode to my hard drive, who was near the end of her life when I wrote this. She has made a miraculous recovery and is still running fairly strongly.

We first exchanged glances in middle May
And then your beauty shone into mine eyes.
I said it then, and now I will still say:
This past year you have been my precious prize.
One-hundred sixty gigabytes you hold
For me, to use for my purpose, not yours.
Your patience is worth more to me than gold,
You would wait for me through rain and through chores.
An expanse of video; mine and not,
And music to fill the month aft first,
And all the information I have sought,
In your bosom is where it all has nursed.
And so as we part, perhaps for the last,
I dearly thank you for the time that's past.
