Notice I was born, raised and educated in Toronto. I have a degree in Political Science and Psychology from the University of Toronto. A MLIS degree from the University of Western Ontario makes me a Professional Librarian by ALA definition. I am an Electronic Services Librarian for a OLC member public library system in southern Ontario. I lived in Windsor while working for an American library IT firm and later an Inc. 500 educational software developer. One of my pictures of Detroit was used in an Wall Street Journal article (p. W12 on Dec 22, 2007) about Detroit's Lafayette Park, "The Biggest Mies Collection". I also taught for a year in the University of Toronto at Mississauga's CCIT program; it was in this capacity that I became aware of Wikipedia. Students would use Wikipedia as a source of scholarly information, which is a problem because Wikipedia is not a scholarly publication. Nevertheless, in the process of lecturing students about Wikipedia's limitations and absence of academic rigor, I was charmed by its communal, collaborative, cut-up intercourse.
