With so many variables to managing a Tourism Destination we created the 10GATES model to provide a functional and practical framework for destination managers. When we started our research some twenty years ago, the travel sector looked a lot different than it does today. People either traveled for 'business or pleasure' and included in this was a visit to 'friends and relatives'. This was the first real travel segmentation model. As the travel industry continued to grow and evolve, so too, has the complexity and distribution of our 10GATES model.

On this website, you have the opportunity to participate in the ongoing definition and shaping of the worldwide travel sector by contributing to the 'common body of knowledge' related to the 10GATES. 10GATES needs to know what you think as an industry professional, academic, researcher, leisure or business traveler or someone employed in a related travel segment. Your knowledge is critically important to how the future of the sector continues to evolve and be shaped. Will you help us?
