Mike is also a professional winegrape grower and winemaker with his tiny production family estate winery Perennial Vintners. PV specializes in cool climate grapes/wines from the Puget Sound American Viticultural Area (PS AVA) on Bainbridge Island, just across Puget Sound from downtown Seattle, Washington State, USA. http://www.PerennialVintners.com/

Mike is also a self-proclaimed historian of the Washington state wine industry. Mike has amassed a large collection of wine labels, bottles, magazine articles, photographs, writings, etc. Mike is also known for "MikeL's WA Winery Guide", the first statewide perspective of the Washington state wine industry, established on the web in 1995. Mike is known to his readers and friends as "MikeL" due to having this as his email address in some form or another since 1992.
