[edit] Pronunciation

It's pronounced "Yoozhny" zh as s in "vision", not z as in zebra! I hear it too often incorrectly pronounced. On the other hand, Russian words with just "z" should be pronounced as they are spelled - Grozny is Grozny, not Grozhny. --Atitarev (talk) 05:57, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

Absolutely. What the **** is it with these sports commentators who insist on calling him "Yoozny"? Can't they read!! Can't they tell the difference between "Youzhny" and "Youzny" (if there were any such name, which there isn't)? This isn't exactly an unknown sound in English after all - consider words like "unusual", "vision", "lesion", "fusion" and of course "Dr Zhivago". Sorry - end of rant. -- JackofOz (talk) 14:46, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
