[edit] Trivia

I'm wondering if someone could add a trivia secion with info as to how Mike became known as "The Glue" and "The Cobra Holda". I've only heard the latter and that's only been Celph Titled reffering to him as that in two songs on We Major. 137.186.165.143 04:59, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

The band also call him "Spike Minoda" Bane II 13:27, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Cruft

This article is super-crufty. Information like "he likes japanese food" is hardly encyclopedic. I'm marking this article for cleanup. --DropDeadGorgias (talk) 16:12, May 23, 2005 (UTC)

  • I've attempted to take care of this. If you're still unsatisfied with the page as it stands, please return some feedback via my talk page. jglc | t | c 17:38, 10 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Just deleted some total crap from the discussion. It was basically the same stuff from up above that we said that we didn't need. And it had horrid grammar and was ALL LIKE THIS. Anyway, I just added the name of Mike's solo CD (which is innaproppriately named, as he was not the only person on it) to the article about it. I thought that it was more than appropriate. [edit] clean up

this article needs to be cleaned up like the Chester Bennington article Lipzydude 10:29, 24 February 2006 (UTC)

-the information needs to be moved so it is under the relevant subtitle Lipzydude 22:02, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

I did some cleaning up in the biography section and removed some of the tags; more can still be done though. Metsfanmax 00:53, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] guitars

this article, put simply, is lacking some very important info. For example, the article does not state what guitar(s) he uses...

I feel bad for his dad. People would probably make fun of his name, but Mike would kill them if they did that!

wow! what can i give it up to fort minor this song i recently heard blew me away it's really talking about how what people actually go through it made me think alot about my life and appreciate it so thank you it makes sense

[edit] Cobra Holda

I can't find any references that refer to Shinoda as "The Cobra Holda", except for here on Wikipedia. Can this nickname be substantiated? "The Glue", by comparison, is not hard to verify. -- Mikeblas 19:02, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

On Fort Minor's mixtape, We Major, he is referred to as The Cobra Holda a few times. -SayCheese 02:09, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Pinkprank Radio

why there is no wiki-page for "Pinkprank Radio" maybe we can use the site's "about me"

I would love to start a page for pinkprank radio but i dont know how to do it.

What does this have to do with Mike? --SayCheese 20:57, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fort Minor

Shinoda's still with fort minor isn't he? Kzrulzuall 09:49, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

Probably, considering it's his project. The question really is whether or not he still plans to put out more Fort Minor albums, as it wouldn't actually exist without him. Actually, if I'm not mistaken, Fort Minor might actually be Mike Shinoda himself, since the album seems to list any track that contains anyone besides Mike as being by "Fort Minor/Styles of Beyond" or whoever. --Foot Dragoon 05:55, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

As far as I now, Fort Minor is indeed Mike Shinoda. In one interview, he mentioned that he didn't want to name the project after himself because he wanted people to remember the music, not him. Mathew Williams 12:07, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] See Also

Why was the see also section removed? Isn't it appropriate? *confused as usual* kaiti-sicle 03:46, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Anna

Usually when you say he married someone, you mention their maiden name instead of the name after they marry. So you'll want to say "He married Anna [Maiden Name]," instead of "He married Anna Shinoda." Valeriya 19:35, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

Unless it was incest, but that's just gross... Bane II 13:29, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

I believe her name is Anna Lovejoy, or from what I've heard. Redspark09 01:03, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

Didn't you read at mike shinoda's article in space personal life?it's Anna Hillinger —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.95.151.98 (talk) 06:55, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Role in linkin park?

When I watched the recent video, I saw him with a guitar, and I'm thinking that he became the rhythm guitarist for Linkin Park or something? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 203.84.69.161 (talk) 13:37, 3 April 2007 (UTC).

He has been the rhythm gutarist since "Meteroa."

More like since Hybrid Theory. --72.66.18.153 11:54, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

yeah check out the Crawling video —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.146.21.180 (talk) 18:29, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

Mike Shinoda plays the guitar, but he also plays the drums. As everyone should know, he is a background singer, or perhaps main vocalist in some areas. Another thing is that he's a rapper (obviously). He also does the emcee, beats, sampling, and writes some lyrics. Not just the music, but Shinoda also does the creative direction for Linkin Park. ~ Anonymous —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.78.215.166 (talk) 22:09, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Religion

I've gone to a lot of sites with his information, and they've all said that he's Protestant, though not actively. So, I just would like to get that on this page as well.

Not important. 72.66.17.36 01:32, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

Actually, it is important. Thank You. Someone needs to change it.

"It is pointless information, especially since it does not go anywhere. More importantly, if you can not back it up with a legitimate reference, do not bother adding it to Wikipedia (WP:A/WP:RS).--►ShadowJester07  10:56, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

Oh my gosh... References are everywhere.. and low and behold ShadowJester07, look at the bottom of the page, somebody obviously changed it. Religion does have a big influence on music, I hope you know that. The fact that he is Christian might explain why Fort Minor isn't praising the use of drugs or sexuality. I'm just being honest, you need to zip your lips when you don't do your research, and yes, I'm that guy.

What research? I've done a Google, topic, and Google news, search and come up with nothing but fancruft. Sorry to interrupt your high and mighty errand, but unless you can find a legitimate source to verify it, and then other factual information to compliment it, the information is pointless. Basing a claim on "I read it on the Internet from a random site", is almost as stupid as using rumors and imagination to write historical articles. So, breathe with your head between your knees, calm down, and take the time to even read Wikipedia's policies (I've already stated two, good to know you read them before commenting) before making any other demands. --►ShadowJester07  10:55, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

do you necessarily need to be a Christian to not do drugs or be misogynistic? besides, his behavior is not very Christian, in my opinion.

What? ...
Anyway, it would seem from his biography that his primary religion is Music. If he's raised Protestant or whatever, is that really notable? How many Wikipedia articles on people make a point to mention their religion, unless it plays prominently into their public life? As for his faith influencing his music, you need to find a reliable source - like a news article - with a quote from someone (preferably him) making that claim. Otherwise it's just speculation. --64.149.34.209 12:41, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Maternal Heritage

The article states his mother as being Russian-Hungarian, although a while back Mike stated on his MySpace that his mum is neither. Someone had added this to the article a long time ago, although it seems that it has been reverted.

This is true, and I just tried to change the article but it seems that Myspace has been blacklisted. If anyone wants to check it out, go to Fort Minor's Myspace blog then go to the April 17th, 2006 entry. --SayCheese 03:37, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
Just noting once again that the Russian-Hungarian heritage is wrong, and that I would appreciate someone telling me how to link to Myspace without Wikipedia telling me that it's blacklisted. Thank you. --SayCheese 23:29, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Nu metal

Mike Shinoda made nu metal because of linkin parks two records Hybrid theory and Meteora! and to write rap and alternative hip hop is stupid! just alternative hip hop is enough! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.167.204.34 (talk) 15:58, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
