[edit] Hello Fellow Schopp editors

I just pulled the line about Entrecom buying WNSA because (1) it doesn't have a lot to do with Mike Schopp and (2) it belongs on a page about WNSA or Buffalo sports talk radio or Buffalo radio business.

[edit] The Section About WGR

Schopp had been offered a job at ESPN Radio while working at WNSA. However, that network's Buffalo affiliate was rival WGR. Schopp left WNSA in July 2002 and was immediately hired by WGR, where he was paired (for a brief time) with Dickerson. Dickerson would retire shortly thereafter and would be replaced by Chris "Bulldog" Parker, who came from the morning show as part of a restructuring between WGR and WBEN.

I think we need some documentation and attribution for these assertions. If I remember right, Schopp left WNSA abruptly in May 2002 and since he was not under contract he was able to simply give notice and at that point they took him off the air. He gave notice at WNSA because WGR offered him a contract to which he agreed. That opened up the opportunity to work for ESPN Radio and was probably certainly a factor in his decision making process. But I'm not 100% sure of these things and to load this stuff in to the bio, we will eventually get cited for lacking the proper documentation or references.

[edit] mikeschopp.com

Why bother putting up that www.mikeschopp.com link? Besides a copyright violation of a screen grab from his initial WGR bio, there is nothing there and it probably is just someone's lame attempt to get Schopp to pay him to run a web site for him.

I vote for removal.
