[edit] Name Change

Should we change it to Mike Boogie Malin?

-- Yes, because there's a rapper named Mike Boogie.

Also; Big Brother sucks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.14.96.120 (talk) 20:18, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] VOTING HISTORY

Why should we take the voting history off Mike Boogie but keep it on the others --Kevmicester2000 01:29, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

If there are nomination tables on other articles that are about current or former housemates, I think they should be removed. talk to JD wants e-mail 01:54, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Information

According to his IMDb profile, Mike Malin has done a bit of acting. Could some of this be put into the article so that it isn't so much Big Brother and so little anything else? talk to JD wants e-mail 09:09, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Controversey

Perhaps there should be mention of his arrest about a decade ago? I don't know if its appropriate to mention in here, I'll leave that up to you guys to decide.

I agree, it should be mentioned. To be truthful and accurate, these biographies should be unbiased and not fan tributes. ItsGottaBeRight 16:52, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Marriage proposal and restaurant business

In the "firsts" section it mentions that Mike was the first person to propose marriage on the finale of a reality TV show. Nowhere in the main article is there any mention of a romance between him and anyone else, there is nothing that says whom he proposed to, whether the proposal was accepted, what happened following the proposal, etc. I think if you're going to stick something like that in an article, it should be elaborated on a bit, no? Also, it would be nice if we had some info about how he got to be in the restauarant business, especially given that it doesn't appear he started out with tremendous financial resources. [edit] Cleanup of 27 October

Like the Will Kirby article, I suspect some conflict of interest editing. I was also not surprised to find it full of what I would euphemistically describe as self-promotional stuff, serving to promote Malin and the Dolce Group. Nearly the entire section was ripe for deletion, as much of the text was lifted from the Dolce website, with only a few words changed. Wikipedia is not a soapbox, and should not be used by Malin, or anyone associated with him "as an opportunity for guerilla marketing, relentlessly promoting his business" (which incidentally is a phrase I removed from the article).

There were of course weasel words, like "x is considered one of the hottest nightclubs in L.A. and is the club of choice by many A-Lister’s", which I have now also removed. The phrase "many restaurants across the country" was misleading: a handful of restaurants in 4 or 5 cities is hardly that, therefore, it has been made more precise.

The phrase "The business... became the entertainment industry's hangout of choice thanks to Malin's concurrent appearance on CBS reality show Big Brother", in additional to being promotional, is unsubstantiated and thus fails WP:OR.

All this, and I haven't even touched any of the big brother stuff, which I'll leave for another day ;-) Ohconfucius 02:12, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

for clarification: I have assumed, as was suggested, that "Boogie" is a nickname. I have therefore removed reference to it being "a role". Ohconfucius 02:47, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

Per above, I have now sourced and included a section on the Warner Bros trespass incident. Ohconfucius 03:34, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
