Just some evidence, based on WP:Music

• Described by Time Out - New York as "One of New York’s finest Song-Slingers." Unfortunately, I cannot find Time Out's archives online, so I can't give a direct citation.
• Appeared on the cover of Billboard Magazine with the rest of Whiskeytown, March 28, 2002
• It is my understanding that members of notable bands are de facto notable. Whiskeytown certainly qualifies - their last album peaked at #9 on a Billboard chart
