Mikey Genao

Mikey Genao is a Puerto Rican musician, better known for being the guitarist of the band: La Secta Allstar. Genao is also a back-up singer.

Mikey joined La Secta Allstar late 2003. In 2004, he recorded Consejo (Advice), the band's most successful album to history. By June 2005 (one month after the album's release date) the band sold over 80,000 copies. A major achievement in a small island as Puerto Rico. Late 2005, La Secta Allstar was nominated for an American Grammy in the "Best Rock Band" category. In February 2006, with more than 200,000 copies sold, the band won a Billboard Award in the "Best Rock/Alternative Band" category. Consejo went gold just months after its release and by the year, ended platinum in the Latin charts.

Mikey has also contributed as a guitarist/programmer/producer for several other artists from various genres such as Victor Manuelle, René Pérez Calle 13, Angel "Cuco" Peña, Wisin & Yandel, Edwin Rivera, Danny Fornaris (Fusssion Music, Calle 13), & Si Señor, among many others.

La Secta is currently working on their new album to be released in Summer 2008.
