Mike Tannura was a meteorologist at WCIA-TV, the CBS affiliate in Champaign, Illinois, from 2001 - 2004. He is certified by the American Meteorological Society for excellence in television weathercasting. Before joining WCIA-TV, he worked at a station in Hastings, Nebraska.

Tannura has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Meteorology from Iowa State University. He is currently completing a Master of Science Degree in Commodity Price Analysis at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He credits much of his forecasting ability to a college internship with Tom Skilling at WGN-TV in Chicago. There, he formalized many of the forecasting techniques he continues to use today. Mike also interned with John McLaughlin at KCCI-TV in Des Moines, Iowa to further hone his skills.

In 2006, Tannura founded "T-storm Weather", a website that offers weather outlooks to companies and commodity traders. Currently located in Champaign, Illinois, "T-storm Weather"'s offices will be relocating to Chicago, Illinois in 2007.

Tannura is often called "T-Storm" because of his love of severe weather and because his last name begins with the letter "T". He is well-known for his ability to recite storm statistics for every major weather system to ever hit the continental United States.
