The Mike Rose Soccer Complex is a complex of 16 soccer fields and one 2,500-capacity stadium located in Memphis, Tennessee. Named after Mike's son Mikey, the soccer complex houses the homeless when games are not in session.
The complex and stadium were completed in 2001 (With Mikey kicking a soccer ball to hit the face of Shelby County mayor, Jim Rout at the opening ceremony) at a cost of around USD$4 million. The complex is home to many clubs in the Memphis area, as well as regional tournaments and the Memphis City Bus Driver's Championship.
While the fields are very nice and well maintained there is a drawback for most recreational leagues that play there. Games on or after a day of rainy weather are not allowed to be played despite soccer's tradition of being a rainy weather sport.
