Mike Perras from Montréal, Québec, Canada, is a well-known DJ for the tracks that is has produced in 1991 “Beginning of Life” and “Keep moving” on Bassic Records.

Mike Perras spent his highschool and college years as a DJ on campus radio, and started his professional career in 1983 at the club “ Futuriste “ in a subhurb of Montreal, Canada.

He quickly became a resident of over a dozen clubs in the Montreal area by 1991, such as: “The Octagone”, “Superpub”, “Braque” and “Esprit”. In 1984 and 1985, Mike participated in several DJ competitions. One of which was held by Larry Day at the “September Club” in Montreal, where he took second prize.

It’s when Mike became a member of the Montreal “S.U.R.E” record pool, in 1983, where he met Robby Demlakian, founder of Bassic Records. Mike became the soundman for the label, using his own studio in most Bassic productions. In the early 90’s Mike and Robby did a few remixes for Unidisc. The most prestigious being D Train’s “You’re the one for me” on Prelude.

In 1987, Mike was a member of one of the first house music bands in Montreal “Made 2 Funk” giving live performances staring the singer “Rodney Felix”. Rodney, later was heard on Mike Perras’s first production “You can’t ride the rhythm” released on Bassic in 1989.

1991 was the year that changed Mike’s life. The tracks “Beginning of Life” and “Keep Movin’ “ were licensed, over the years, by top recording labels “Azuli”, “BBE”, “Defected”, “International Deejay Gigolo” and just recently in September 2007, on “Global Underground”.

Many international DJ have supported Mike Perras music throughout the years, like: Nick Warren (UK), DJ Hell (Germany), DJ Deep (French producer), DJ Jeno (California, USA) and of course, Gino Gabriele, of the weekly broadcast show “Blindfold Session” featured on 90HZ.org, where Mike was fortunate enough to have performed live on several occasions.

Today, Mike has cofounder, along with renowned Montreal DJ, Robert Ouimet, of Mikrobe recordings. Mikrobe recordings is soon to release numerous original tracks from various artists to continue the passion of music that will be forever in his soul.
