Mike Munoz[1] (born September 14, 1983 in Bellflower, California) is an American soccer player who currently plays midfielder for USASA amateur side Hollywood United.
Munoz played college soccer at the University of California, Berkeley, in his first three seasons he started 60 out of 63 matches. However, four games into his senior season he tore his right MCL and was out for the rest of the year.
He was selected in the first round, 3rd overall, in the 2005 MLS Supplemental Draft by C.D. Chivas USA. In September 2006, he underwent arthroscopic ankle surgery, which sidelined him for the rest of 2006 MLS season, having appeared in just one game.
After being waived by Chivas, Munoz signed with the California Victory in January 2007. He scored the first league goal in the history of the California Victory on April 28, 2007 against the Vancouver Whitecaps, and was named part of the USL First Division Team Of The Week on April 30, 2007 for his goal against the Vancouver Whitecaps, but left the Victory when the team folded at the end of the 2007 season.
He is currently playing for Los Angeles-based amateur team Hollywood United, and helped them qualify for the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup for the first time in 2008.
He is currently dating 102.7 KIIS FM Los Angeles' "On Air With Ryan Seacrest" radio morning show's associate producer, Patty Rodriguez.
