Mike Moran (firefighter)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mike Moran is an Irish American FDNY firefighter who lost his brother in the September 11th, 2001 attacks. At Madison Square Garden on October 20, 2001, Moran addressed the audience at The Concert for New York City: "In the spirit of the Irish people, Osama bin Laden, you can kiss my royal Irish ass."[1] He was later quoted in the Spike Lee film 25th Hour and the quote is often used on Rescue Me (a large number of whom — including the central character Tommy Gavin — are proud Irish Americans, and most of whom are firefighters).
