Michael Hans (Mike) Kaiser (born 20 April 1963) is an Australian politician. He was an Australian Labor Party member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly from 2000 to 2001, representing the electorate of Woodridge. A former state secretary of the Queensland division of the Labor Party, he resigned as an MP after being implicated in a 1986 Labor Party branch stacking exercise by the Shepherdson Inquiry.
Kaiser was the third Labor MP forced to resign as a result of the Shepherdson inquiry, conducted by the Criminal Justice Commission, into allegations of electoral rorting and branch stacking in the preselection of ALP candidates.
Kaiser was forced to resign after recognising his signature on a falsified electoral enrolment form, relating to an operation carried out by the Australian Workers Union faction in an unsuccessful attempt to defeat a Socialist Left candidate in the state seat of South Brisbane in 1986.
Kaiser was born in Brisbane. He served as Assistant National Secretary of the Australian Labor Party in the lead up to and during the 2004 federal election.
He was employed as the Chief of Staff to New South Wales Premier Morris Iemma [1] before becoming Chief of Staff to Queensland Premier Anna Bligh in late 2007.
