[edit] Minor league career
Jones was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 1st Round (12th overall pick) of 2001 amateur entry draft. He began his professional career in 2001 with their Rookie league affiliate, the Ogden Raptors. In 2002, he had advanced to their Class A Beloit Snappers. He was promoted again in 2003 to the Double-A Huntsville Stars, where he also played the entire 2004 season. He was sidelined after shoulder surgery in 2005, which kept him out of the game for the entire season.[1]
Jones returned in 2006 with the Class A-Advanced Brevard County Manatees, before making his return to Huntsville for one game. In 2007, he spent the entire season with the Stars. During the off-season, he was promoted to the Triple-A Nashville Sounds, but was later was moved down to Brevard County. As of May 14, 2008, he is with Brevard County and has made 7 starts but has pitched no more than 3 innings per start due to a strict pitch count from the Brewers management because of health concerns.
