Mike Johnson also known as Michael Johnson is a New Zealand Paralympic sportsman.
He started target shooting in 2002 and his first International competition was Oceania 2002, where he competed against other SH2 shooters. Johnson ended up with a fourth placing and a determination that he would one day be New Zealand's first Paralympic Gold Medalist Shooter.
This was achieved at the 2004 Summer Paralympics where Michael shot 600 out of 600 points setting a new World Record to put him in first place going into the final, he then shot 104.3 to win the Gold Medal for New Zealand in the SH2 Standing Air event.
Michael's next goal was to be the first New Zealand World Champion, this achievement was realised in July 2006, where he won the Gold Medal in the SH2 Prone Air event shooting 600 out of 600 points at the IPC World Championships in Switzerland.
