Michael (Mike) Harris (born June 15, 1983 in Hillsboro, Texas) is an American professional basketball player currently with the NBA's Houston Rockets.
Previously, Harris has played collegiately for Rice University, and professionally for BC Kyiv of the Ukrainian League. In the 2006-07 NBA season, Harris was signed by the Milwaukee Bucks[1], with whom he averaged 6.0 points and 2.4 rebounds in five pre-season games[2] before being cut from the team, and he spent the rest of the season with the Colorado 14ers of the D-League.[3] He averaged 11.8 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.54 blocks in 48 games with the 14ers in 2006-07.[2]
In 2007-08 Harris played for Dongguan New Century Leopards of the Chinese Basketball Association, averaging 28 minutes, 24.3 points and 11.6 rebounds in 25 contests.[2] On March 9, 2008 he signed a 10-day contract for the Houston Rockets in the NBA. Previously, he had signed a non-guaranteed deal with them on July 13, 2007[4], and after averaging 5.0 points and 6.0 rebounds in Houston's first two preseason games, was waived on October 22.[2]
