Mike Gallagher (guitarist)

Mike Gallagher is a hard rock guitarist. He has performed solo and in a number of bands, including his most notable Midnight Angel. Many of his songs have been used on television and in film and his bands have opened shows for many national acts.
Originally influenced by Eddie Van Halen, Mike Gallagher first picked up the guitar at the age of 13. Since then, Mike's influences have grown to include George Lynch, Greg Howe, Blues Saraceno, Vinnie Moore and Joe Satriani, among others. Mike attended Berklee College of Music and has played and recorded in various bands and as a solo instrumental artist along the East and West coasts. Mike's current band, Midnight Angel, an original hard rock/metal band based in Philadelphia has opened shows for many national acts within the last few years. Mike is endorsed by Carvin Guitars, Line 6 Effects, S.I.T. Strings and Black Diamond Strings and is featured on the GUITAR 2001 all-instrumental guitar CD compilation. Mike's instrumental work has caught the attention of Shrapnel Records president Mike Varney, as well as ex-Keel guitarist Marc Ferrari. More than forty songs from Mike's Extreme Guitar I, II & III CDs are featured in Ferrari's MasterSource music catalog, which is widely distributed to the television and film industries. Many of Mike's songs have been placed in shows on ABC, FOX, VH1, MTV2, ESPN, Nickelodeon and E! Entertainment, as well as Touchstone and Disney movies. Currently, Mike is playing shows and recording with Midnight Angel, as well as working on his upcoming instrumental CD, Sonic Universe. Mike also teaches guitar and bass in the suburban Philadelphia area.
