Mike Fox is the head baseball coach at North Carolina. He is considered one of the school's most successful coaches, having compiled a 341-160-1 record in eight seasons, including seven NCAA Tournament appearances. He has led the Tar Heels to five consecutive 40 win seasons. As a coach, he has led his teams to tournament play in 21 of his 23 seasons as a head coach. He has led his teams to 9 College World Series as a head coach. In 2006, he led his squad to the Finals of the College World Series, where his team lost to Oregon State. In 2007, he again led his squad to the Finals of the College World Series, where his team again lost to Oregon State.

Prior to coaching at North Carolina, he coached at North Carolina Wesleyan. He compiled a 540-141-4(.792) record there. He played three seasons as a second base-man at North Carolina as a player.
