Mike Feinstein

Mike Feinstein is an American politician and a member of the Green Party who served as the appointed Mayor of Santa Monica, California from to 2000-2002 [1] (mayors there are city council members appointed to one year terms). Feinstein has been involved in political activisim since 1988, and In 1990, helped co-found the Green Party of California [2]. Feinstein was first elected to the City Council in 1996 receiving 13,681 votes, for 12.2% and a second place finish amongst the thirteen candidates running for the four positions [3]. Feinstein was re-elected in 2000 [4] and was appointed to the first of his two stints as mayor. In 2004 Feinstein sought a third term but was defeated finishing 9th of 16 [5]. Feinstein currently is one of two Co-Coordinators heading up the Green Party of California's 20-member Coordinating Committee [6], and is a California delegate for the Green Party of the United States[7]. Feinstein is also a Green Party representative to the Global Greens, an international network of Green parties and political movements.
