Mike Esposito (comics)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mike Esposito (b. 1927) was one of the comic book industry's top artists on his own and as a team partnered with Ross Andru. Originally Esposito had dreams of becoming an animator at Disney. The dreams ended when his mother did not want him to leave New York City for the coast. Publishing was big in NYC and comics were a natural.
Esposito and Andru published comics under the name MikeRoss Publications in the 1950s. Among the titles published were Get Lost, Mr. Mistery and 3D Love.
While working for DC Comics in the early 1960s, Esposito gradually moved to Marvel, initially taking the pen-name "Mickey Demeo" to conceal his Marvel Comics work from his ostensive employers.[1]
A paparazzo character was named after him on the "Smallville" episode, Trespass.[citation needed]
In 2007 Mike Esposito and Ross Andru were the subject of a biography titled Partners For Life.
