Mike Edwards (born April 25, 1980) is an English footballer, currently playing for Notts County.

Edwards was signed by Notts County in May 2004 on a free transfer from Grimsby Town by Gary Mills. Unfortunately however, the Beverley born defender lasted just 10 games until injury struck. In a league cup first round tie away against West Ham Utd, Edwards suffered cruciate ligament damage ruling him out for the rest of the season. Under the new manager for the 05-06 campaign, Gudjon Thordarson, he made a remarkable comeback to play in all 50 league and cup games. Primarily a centre-back, Mike proved his versatility in that campaign, operating in central midfield for most of the season. He slotted back into defence after the departure of Kelvin Wilson towards the end of the season putting in consitent and impressive performances. Versatile and consistent, Edwards found the net 7 times proving a menace to the opposition at set plays. He signed a new contract in May 2006 taking him through until May 2008. Edwards was made Club Captain for the 2007-08 season. The announcment was well received as his committed performaces the previous season had earned him Player of the Year acolades. However, in a preseason fixture against St. Blazley, he nroke his leg and was out until the turn of the year. Now fully fit he is once again a prominent member of the team.
