Mike Buck is an Austin, Texas based drummer who who became influential by playing on a variety of bands in the blues-rock music scene.

Born in Ft. Worth, Texas on June 17, 1952, Buck began playing with different bands around the Ft. Worth area during his teen years; this included "Robert Ealey and the Five Careless Lovers", and Johnny Carroll. While in his twenties he moved to Austin where he made his name as a drummer for The Fabulous Thunderbirds in the late 1970s. He went on to preform on the band's first two albums, The Girls Go Wild and What's The Word.

In 1981 he left The Fabulous Thunderbirds and formed "The Leroi Brothers" with guitarists Steve Doerr and Don Leady. Their first album, Check This Action featured guest bassist Keith Ferguson, from the Thunderbirds. Despite personnel changes over the years, The Leroi Brothers continue to tour the United States and around the Austin area.

Buck has also gone on to preform with numerous other bands while still being a part of The Leroi Brothers. The Big Guitars From Texas album paired Buck and Ferguson along with Casper Rawls, Denny Freeman, and Evan Johns. The album went on to earn a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Instrumental Performance in 1986. Buck performed and recorded with several younger up-and-coming Texas guitarists, most notably Eve Monsees. In 2001, the two of them formed a new band called "The Exiles"; which includes band mates "Speedy" Sparks and Grady Pinkerton. The same year he also appeared on Sci-Fi Diner, the debut disc from blues-rock guitarist J.J. Vicars.

When he is not playing in different gigs with his bands Buck works during the day at Austin based Antone's Record Shop.
