Mike Bennett is a professional rugby league player for Super League Rugby league club St Helens. His position of choice is second-row.
Over the years, Bennett has become somewhat a cult figure with Saints fans who feel his no-frills, low risk style does not suit St Helens 'entertainers' image. This has resulted in several endearing ironic nicknames from the fans such as 'Basher Bennett' and 'Dangerous B'. However, the majority of the support recognize and acknowledge the hard work he does for the team.
