Michael Carl "Mike" Adams[1] (born 1981-03-24 in Paterson, New Jersey[1]) is an American football safety who is currently a member of the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League. Adams attended the University of Delaware[1] where he earned second-team All-Atlantic 10 honors as a senior[1] and he was undrafted in the 2004 NFL Draft.[1] Adams was signed by the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent[1] and played with the team for three years before being released after the 2006 NFL season.[1] He was signed by the Cleveland Browns on 2007-04-02.[1]

Adams attended Passaic Tech High School in Paterson, New Jersey.

Adams attended the University of Delaware where he played 43 times with 23 starts. During his college career he made 213 tackles and 11 interceptions.

[edit] 2004
He joined the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent. He played eight games in his rookie season and made his NFL debut versus the Carolina Panthers on November 14. He finished the season with four tackles.

He played in 14 games and made ten starts in the 2005 season. His 68 tackles were a career high. He scored his first NFL touchdown on a 40-yard interception return.

He played in all 16 games for the 49ers with eight starts and made 67 tackles. One less than in his previous season.

He signed for the Cleveland Browns as a free agent on April 2 and made his debut against the Pittsburgh Steelers on September 9. He finished the season with ten tackles and one sack.
