Nips Newmie is was one of the long running characters on the TV series Baywatch. He was played by real life Los Angeles County lifeguard Michael Newman and remains the only member of the permanent cast to be a real life lifeguard.

Newman appeared throughout the entire series from 1989 to 2004 into the Baywatch Hawaii era. His role in the series was chiefly to attempt to make the series more professional from a life saving point of view and he was a dedicated and reliable lifegaurd at Baywatch.
