Mikael Samuelson

Mikael Samuelson (born 9 March 1951) is a Swedish opera singer and actor. He is probably most acknowledged for his lead role in the Swedish version of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera.
However, in the early 1990s, he was most famous for his role as one of the main characters in the Swedish TV series Rederiet, a long running drama show about a shipping company, which conducts passenger traffic on the Baltic Sea between Stockholm and Åbo in Finland. Mikael Samuelson played the ships' captain between 1992–1994.
On the operatic field, he has performed Mozart's Papageno in "The Magic Flute" and the title role in "Le Nozze di Figaro", among others, during his youth with outstanding results. 1993 he won the Fred Åkerström-prise for his fantastic music with the guitarist Mats Bergström. The spring 2008 he plays the leading role in the Swedish musical "Jekyll & Hyde".
