Talk:Mihna
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Salatintoo has rewritten the Mihna article from the bottom up; however, I'm not sure that the rewritten article is better than the original...
Salatinoo has written a very biased report of the Mihna; it is completely and totally neglecting both Sunni and Shi'ite interpretations and focuses on trying to mitigate the role of the Mutazilates - a role that all Sunni histories mention. I think the article needs someone else to add to it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.132.144.144 (talk) 18:14, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
- The Sunni histories do indeed blame the Mu'tazila, and perhaps someone should write a paragraph on the backlash against all things Mu'tazilite that occurred after the mihna, but the historical research of Nawas and the others makes fairly clear that it's not entirely fair to blame the Mu'tazilites, I think. So I think the article is good enough for the most part... Paul Willocx (talk) 16:51, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
