The town of Mihtarlam (also Mehtar Lam) is the capital of Laghman Province and center of Mihtarlam District. It is the only big urban settlement in the province. The town is situated in the valley formed by the Alishing and Alingar rivers, 47 km Nort-West from the city of Jalalabad. There is a paved road between them-one hour long travel by car. There is believed to be the tomb of Lamech, father of Noah[1], found by Mahmud of Ghazni. At that place was built a shrine, revered in nowadays.
